Birthday Celebrations and Pioneer Day Fun

So we had quite the busy week with it being Pioneer Day and my Birthday all in one week. We celebrated with a couple of visits to the Spanish Fork Fiesta Days Rodeo, camping, a demolition derby, and eating lots of crap. That’s what birthdays are for, right? I took the liberty of eating crap the whole week. What a good week.
Jeff and I went camping in the Uintahs over the weekend. It was amazing we actally even made it there. We had to go back to our house twice after we had tried to hit the road. It wasnt until half way up Provo Canyon that I decided to ask Jeff if he had gotten our sleeping bags. With panic on his face, we turned the car around and went back home to get the most essential item for a camping trip. We finally made it up there. On our little overnight excursion, we managed to catch over thirty fish. With a fly and a bubble we were knocking them dead. We had yummy tinfoil dinners and marshmallows of course. Half the campsite was closed of due to a bear siting the night before. That made for an exciting night.
Jeff managed to catch the biggest fish while we were up there.

He also managed to catch the smallest.
This is one of my many fish. I made Jeff get all my fish off the hooks for me. I am slowly building up the courage to do it. I did, however, rig my own pole up. I was very proud of myself. If i wanted to change my fly, I did it myself. No more waiting around for Jeff to do it, just had to wait around for him to grab those gooey slimy fish and plop them back in the water. We had such a good time on our camping trip. We had so much fun, that we are planning on going back up there this saturday.

Jeff took me to my favorite mexican restaurant (The Blue Iguana) in Salt Lake for my birthday. He also took me shopping and had suprised me with a bunch of clothes that he picked all by himself for me. I had a great birthday.

Kerri, London, and Laurie took me out for sushi for my birthday. We had a really good time, and the Japanese lady sang happy birthday to me with a gong.

You are so silly. Look at your hair while camping. Give me a break, I don't even do my hair like that for church let alone to go get stinky in the woods. You kill me Kel.

Did you know we had a high school reunion this past weekend? I missed out on that, whoopsy!

What a fun week! That's pretty funny about the sleeping bags :) I'm proud of you for doing your own pole! You're the camping girl I dream of being (except I truly can't curl my hair like that, but it's really cute)!
